Messenger Users At The Hands oF Hackers, Beware

Messenger users worldwide are victims of hackers. Group-IB, a Singapore intelligence company, said it was launching a "fraud campaign" targeted at Messess users in various countries.

According to the Indian newspaper Gazette Now, Messenger users in more than 70 countries around the world have become victims of hijackers. This could include users from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America and South America.

Hackers steal user information by advertising the distribution of updated versions of Facebook Messenger. At least 1,000 fake Facebook profiles are used for this purpose. The hacker attack on Messenger emerged last year by cyber security analysts. Since then such incidents have been on the increase.

Intelligence company cyber Group-IB says the hackers provided a link to install an updated version of Messenger. After clicking on that link, users are taken to the login page. When you sign in there, that information goes straight to hackers. This puts users at risk. In particular, the account is held hostage and personal information may be disclosed.

Group-IB has advised Messenger users to be careful to avoid being caught by hijackers. The company says you need to be sure before clicking on any type of link. Personal information may not be provided on a third party website, even if there is a regular logo on that website. Just use the login details for the official app or website.
