 The Punjab Kings (PBKS) are back on track to win the tournament after defeating Mumbai Indian (MI) on March 17 of VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.

After the bowlers blocked MI at 131/6, the captain's knock from KL Rahul guided PBKS to a 9-wicket victory.

Chasing 132, PBKS openers - Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul - appeared on the sidelines after Krunal Pandya was asked to win the second over with a new ball.

The PBKS captain started the second over with two wickets while Agarwal finished it off with an amazing six-piece cover gun. Rahul then pulled Bumrah in the next over by six more than good legs.

Mayank hit 12 runs leaving the fourth over by Trent Boult with four and PBKS were on their way as they raced to 45/0 at the end of Powerplay.

The 50-run partnership was designed to defend the wicket and the chase was going well for the PBKS.

The Punjab Kings were 62/1 and the MI took part in the campaign by putting pressure on runners Chahar and Jayant Yadav, who kept things strong from both sides.

Gayle started working for PBKS and was taking the listed risks against MI spinners as he hit three frontiers.

Pollard, who was the next man, hit 6 in the first penalty kick played by Arshdeep Singh. However, the pacer left arm found success in the same over after pulling out the wicket of Hardik Pandya, who was sent off in the deep.

Shami pulled a good over in the end, conceding just 6 runs and getting a run on Krunal Pandya's way as MI put 131/6 on the board in the first innings.
