WhatsApp Risk: Someone can shut down WhatsApp without your knowledge!

Recently, a major mistake has been noted for WhatsApp security. As long as your phone number is kept to someone, they can set up your phone number, even your WhatsApp account. And so you don't need permission. Anyone can close a WhatsApp account by having only your phone number. Recently researchers were shocked to see such a security error in WhatsApp.

Now the question is, how do you close this WhatsApp account? Suppose someone wants to sign in to WhatsApp with your phone number. In the meantime, your WhatsApp profile is already signed in from your phone. They will not be able to access your account with two-factor authentication. However, WhatsApp will lock your account for 12 hours trying to sign in again and again.

The attackers will then send an email to WhatsApp Support stating your phone number. There you will be notified that your phone has been stolen and that your WhatsApp account should be suspended now. As a result, WhatsApp will suspend your account without your permission. Hackers can keep your WhatsApp account locked for a long time with this step again and again.

However, the hope is that even if your account is locked, hackers will not be able to take your WhatsApp account this way. Otherwise, it is unlikely that any of your conversations will be publicized as a result of this attack.

When asked by WhatsApp executives about this, the US Enlightenment Messaging Company did not provide a solution. A company representative said that if a customer sends an email during two-way verification, such problems can be easily resolved. However, WhatsApp is also responsible for resolving that issue.

WhatsApp also said closing the account in this way would violate the terms of use of WhatsApp. While many joke that if Zuckerberg's WhatsApp account is locked in this way, the company will leave. The phone numbers of Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of WhatsApp, have also emerged from a recent data breach of 533 million WhatsApp data leaks. It was later learned that the owner of Facebook used Signal, the most secure messaging app via WhatsApp.
